Were changing the way Australia generates its energy, are you ready for a change?HumeLink West ProjectTwo CIMIC Group companies, UGL and CPB Contractors have been selected by Transgrid to deliver the 130km western section of the HumeLink high voltage electricity transmission project.HumeLink is a new 500kV transmission project which will connect Wagga Wagga, Maragle and Bannaby in regional NSW that will significantly increase the capacity of the electricity network in Australias eastern states. HumeLink is one of Australias largest energy infrastructure projects, with about 365kms of proposed new transmission lines and a range of other new and upgraded infrastructure.The HumeLink West scope of works, worth $1.4bn, includes delivery of new 500kV double circuit transmission lines spanning 130kms from Wagga Wagga Substation to a new Substation at Gugaa, the Interface Point with HumeLink East near Gundagai and a new substation at Maragle in the Snowy Mountains for future connection to Snowy 2.0.Please note this is a site based role on a FIFO roster. The OpportunityReporting into the Project Director, we are seeking a Health and Safety Manager to join our HumeLink West project. The Health and Safety Manager provides advice to support and maintain a safe and healthy workplace and for adherence to company policies and other applicable laws, regulations and standards for the project ensuring the highest standard in OH&S. Key responsibilities: Implement UGLs HS Management System, through coaching and completion of assurance activities (aligned to UGLs Assurance Plan); Build HSE capability in Site/Project Teams, using the OneHSE Culture Program as platform to build from; Respond to business development opportunities, including involvement in Tender responses to embed HSE expectations early in the project lifecycle; Actively engage Project teams to identify how health and safety, environment, and quality outcomes are being achieved on site, and assist with addressing gaps where identified; Take part in/facilitate Project Risk Workshops, building capability and sharing lessons from other projects; Lead incident investigations for Severity 1, Severity 2 and PC1 events; Monitor and report on achievement of Project HS KPIs, working with the leadership team to address any identified deficiencies; Monitor alignment with legal and client obligations, providing advice to Project Managers and projects/sites on changes or emerging trends that could impact the successful delivery of work; and Provide generalist HSE support to Projects where required including end of month reporting requirements. Support the development, consultation, and implementation of HSEQ Management System content (Procedures, Tools etc.) including project specific management plans. Complete audits and assurance activity (in accordance with the UGL Audit Schedule). Provide advice and support ongoing compliance with UGLs certifications and accreditations (ISO45001, ISO9001, ISO14001, Office of the Federal Safety Commissioner) About youYou will have a minimum 5 years experience in HS Management in high-risk industry (Construction preferred) Qualifications: Excellent knowledge of the relevant HS legislations. Demonstrated capability in implementing HS improvement programs/strategies. Experience in leading incident investigations for significant events. Developed Strong business Acumen and understanding of different contract strategies. Experience working in the capacity of a Principal Contractor. Experience managing teams across multiple projects simultaneously. Root Cause Investigation Qualification (ICAM or Taproot) (Minimum). Required certifications: Construction Industry Induction Card (White Card or equivalent) and medical assessment including drug and alcohol testing prior to commencement.
