The filling of this vacancy is intended to constitute an affirmative measure under Section 31 of the Australian Public Service Commissioner''s Directions 2022. Duties Lead a small team conducting analytical activities, providing team members with clear direction, supervision and opportunities for development. Research, investigate and analyse relevant information and data to develop insights, advice and recommended positions for consideration by the AER Board. Design and facilitate processes for consultation with stakeholders, and assess submissions from stakeholders on energy sector matters. Prepare and oversee the preparation of written material, for example: issues papers, regulatory determinations, reports, correspondence, briefings, guidelines, advices, speeches and submissions. Contribute to the planning and management of projects in a geographically dispersed work environment and provide team members with clear direction and support. Represent the interests of AER; develop and manage stakeholder relationships with industry bodies, government agencies (Commonwealth and State), consumer groups and internal stakeholders. Manage the collection, use and storage of information associated with the AERs regulatory responsibilities in the energy sector. About You All candidates are expected to meet the APS Integrated Leadership Profile (ILS) for the classification advertised. This role in particular requires a candidate with: Demonstrated experience leading a team in a fastpaced and large complex peoplecentered organisation that is geographically dispersed. Demonstrated experience in researching, investigating and analysing relevant information and data to develop and present insights, advice and recommended positions. Welldeveloped written communication skills with proven ability in managing and preparing reports, meetings and other correspondence. Welldeveloped interpersonal skills, including the ability to negotiate with and influence internal and external stakeholders to achieve outcomes. Welldeveloped project management skills, including the demonstrated ability to determine priorities and meet deadlines and work with high levels of autonomy. Welldeveloped understanding, or ability to quickly acquire an understanding of Australian energy markets and the role, purpose and objectives of the AER. Tertiary qualifications in economics, corporate finance, law, public policy, engineering or related fields.
