Job Description

Gardener - Handyperson role at Department of Education, Western Australia. This is a permanent parttime (0.4 FTE) position commencing Term 1, 2026. East Wanneroo Primary School is an independent public school located in the northern suburbs of Perth. Nestled amongst gum trees and extensive native flora, the school provides a beautiful, natural setting. With around 350 students, the staff know every child and their family, supporting a familyoriented environment. The Role As a Gardener/Handyperson, you will be a key member of the team, maintaining the school grounds and ensuring they are safe, tidy, and conducive to a positive environment for students and staff. Duties include overseeing turf areas, garden beds, shrubs, and hard landscaping features such as courts and paving. You will be responsible for maintaining gardening facilities, equipment, and tools, and performing minor repairs and maintenance in accordance with Department policies. Successful applicants will display effective communication, build good relationships with staff and external stakeholders, work unsupervised, recognise tasks that need completion, be wellorganised, detailoriented, optimistic and a team player.
