About The Role We are seeking experienced Road Workers/Labourers to join a regional infrastructure team supporting road construction and maintenance programs in the Cooma and Jindabyne areas. Working as part of a dedicated field crew, this role contributes directly to the upkeep and improvement of key road networks, ensuring the safe and efficient movement of people and goods across the region. $40-$50/hour + super (pay rate varies for different positions) 8.5 hours/day, 76 hours/fortnight, 9-day fortnight Contract length: 6 months, potential for extension depending on the project. Must reside in Cooma/Jindabyne region Willingness to work overtime and attend callouts as needed. Ability to perform physically demanding tasks safely and efficiently. Must pass a National Police Background Check. Commitment to following workplace safety standards and procedures. Key Responsibilities Undertake general road construction, maintenance, and repair activities, including patching, pothole repairs, and sealing works Operate small plant, hand tools, and light equipment safely and efficiently Assist with traffic control, signage setup, and worksite safety management Conduct manual labour duties such as shovelling, compacting, and levelling as required Perform barrier installation, pavement repairs, and verge maintenance Support surveying, levelling, and measuring tasks as directed by supervisors Adhere strictly to WHS standards and contribute to a safe and inclusive work environment Collaborate effectively within a team to meet daily targets and project deadlines Perform pre-start checks and report maintenance issues on plant and equipment About You Previous experience in infrastructure, bridgeworks, roadworks, motorway, civil construction or maintenance Proven ability to operate small plant and tools, with a focus on safe work practices Tickets Must: White Card & current Class C Drivers Licence required Tickets Desirable: TCR, IMP, PWZ, MR/HR licence, and First Aid/CPR certification Strong awareness of workplace safety and compliance Physically fit, reliable, and willing to work in changing outdoor conditions Able to work independently or in teams and communicate effectively with stakeholders Full PPE is required to ensure safety Must have full Australian working rights - Citizen, PR, or valid long-term visa holders only A satisfactory police check is required (can commence before clearance, subject to termination if adverse findings arise) Applicants are kindly asked to upload their tickets at www.charterdiligence.com.au/skilledhire.
