Position Overview Human Resources Officer ShangriLa Group, The Marina, Cairns The Marina is a luxury fivestar hotel located beside Marlin Marina and Trinity Inlet in the heart of Cairns. With 255 guest rooms, 19 function venues and extensive foodandbeverage facilities, the property is part of a leading international company with more than 100 hotels and resorts worldwide. Responsibilities Liaise with Department Managers regarding recruitment needs for entrylevel and linemanagement positions; manage recruitment and selection as directed by the Director of HR. Coordinate final selection decision with Department Managers and Hotel or General Manager, keeping the manager fully informed. Prepare letters of employment for new colleagues and enter data into the Human Resources Information System and Payroll. Coordinate and participate in all recruitment activities such as recruitment days and career fairs. Compose employment advertisements with appropriate media in conjunction with the Director of Human Resources, ensuring accuracy to portray the fivestar ShangriLa brand image. Administer employee terminations, transfers, promotions, Personnel Action Forms, and Job Requisitions. Maintain data recording and prepare statistical analysis to identify trends and areas for improvement. Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, including the Fair Work Act, NES, WHS Act, and other relevant Awards & EA. Assist, direct, and guide the team through the employee life cycle and recommend and implement innovative ideas. Qualifications Excellent communication skills in reading and writing English. Certificate, Diploma or Degree in Human Resources (preferred). Computer literacy Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Lotus Notes, and the Internet. Recruitment exposure at all levels, including the use of webbased recruitment applications. Knowledge of the hotel environment.
