The Institute for Urban Indigenous Health Ltd was established by its founding members to provide a coordinated/integrated approach to the planning, development and delivery of comprehensive primary health care services for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander populations within the Southeast Qld Region. The Deadly Choices Program is proudly Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander operated and consists of a wide range of community-focused activities. All activities have a strong focus on Healthy Lifestyle which aims to educate and empower Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples to take control of their health by making positive choices for themselves and their families. About the Role? Reporting directly to the CEO this position is responsible for overseeing the delivery of all aspects of the Deadly Choices program, Australias leading Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander preventive health program. The position will lead the effective implementation and integration of all service delivery activities, ensuring alignment of the approved annual action plan, budget, funding agreements and service contracts. This role will be based at our Head Office in Windsor, however, regular travel within Queensland and occasional interstate travel will be required. Within this role, you will be required to: Lead the management of outsourced service delivery to IUIH Members and Partners, ensuring achievement of agreed outcomes, proactive resolution of delivery issues, and maintain effective relationships. Manage and oversee program performance, including providing relevant reports to CEO and Board, as required. Positively contribute as an active member of the IUIH Executive Leadership Team to strategic analysis of the strategic development of IUIH and the IUIH Network, and contribute to briefing the IUIH Governing Board, the IUIH Network Chief Executives and Members on key matters relating to the Deadly Choices program. Develop proposals and work plans to secure funding for ongoing delivery of the Deadly Choices program, including new initiatives. Oversee the delivery of a range of local, regional other large-scale events to support Deadly Choices community engagement objectives. Foster strong relationships with all sporting, corporate and community partners to facilitate collaborative and mutually beneficial partnerships. Oversee the Deadly Choices Ambassador program, ensuring strategies are effectively implemented and align with program objectives. Work collaboratively with internal and external partners to develop and implement a focused Deadly Choices research and evaluation approach. Manage and oversee commercial and contractual obligations with partners, maintaining a high level of professionalism. About You? Current C Class Drivers Licence (QLD) Current Criminal History Check Current Working with Children Clearance (QLD Blue Card) Current Disability Screening Check (QLD Yellow Card) Minimum 10 years relevant experience, including 5-8 years in a senior managerial role within a comparable organization Ability to travel across Queensland and interstate Desirable, but not mandatory: Demonstrated experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and /or communities Experienced in leadership of planning and implementation of large-scale initiatives involving significant funding and implications, large staff numbers, breadth of functions and many diverse stakeholder groups High level management experience working within the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community-controlled health sector, or in a comparable not for profit, government or private sector organization.
