The department places a strong emphasis on inclusion and diversity.The Team and OpportunityThe ServiceNow team operates within the Chief Information Officer division and is responsible for the daily management, maintenance and capabilities of the departments ServiceNow implementation. Our implementation is hosted within the ServiceNow protected platform, with two supporting instances (internal staff and Shared Services). The team serves approximately 14,500 employees across DISR and Shared Services. The team currently comprises senior administrators, developers, business analysts and project managers. We are seeking an experienced ServiceNow System Administrator with hands-on ServiceNow experience and a solid understanding of IT Service Management (ITSM). You will have opportunities to learn, innovate and make a real impact while working with supportive colleagues.ResponsibilitiesProvide high-level specialist technical advice on ServiceNow matters, including: ensuring no technical debt in builds, appropriate patching and upgrade strategies, and evaluating the technical design of build work; contribute to technical solution design.Administer the platform by performing tasks such as troubleshooting incidents, minor enhancements, and platform configuration activities.Liaise with our vendor to troubleshoot incidents, patch and upgrade the platform, and contribute to design and security documentation for new solutions.Communicate and collaborate with a cross-functional agile team (product owners, scrum masters, business analysts, developers, architects, testers and vendors) and effectively engage with technical and non-technical stakeholders to deliver high-quality ServiceNow outcomes.Mentor junior colleagues and ensure alignment with stakeholder requirements and broader departmental objectives. Knowledge of the ServiceNow Protected Platform (SPP) is desirable.Eligibility and NotesTo be eligible for employment in the APS and the department, candidates must be Australian Citizens.Positions require a Baseline security clearance and successful candidates must obtain and maintain this clearance.A merit pool may be established to fill future vacancies within 18 months from the date the vacancy was first advertised in the Gazette.The department offers flexible work opportunities for many roles.
