Job Description

OverviewWe provide a home library service for community members who are unable to attend the library to select their own items. Home Library Service Couriers visit clients in their homes to deliver and return bags of library items. Volunteers work as part of a team of staff and volunteers, and participate in activities under the direction and guidance of the local Volunteer Coordinator, or other nominated staff members.ResponsibilitiesDeliver and return bags of library items to and from clients in their homes.Work as part of a team of staff and volunteers under the direction of the local Volunteer Coordinator or other nominated staff.Skills, experience and attributesBe professional in interactions with library staff and clients.Be willing to devote a set amount of time and work to a schedule.Have good communication and listening skills.Be patient, sensitive, flexible and enthusiastic, and enjoy social interaction.Have a positive attitude and ability to engage with community members.Potential benefitsVolunteers make a meaningful difference to community members by helping clients stay connected and access our collections.
