Overview Chocolate Destinations Group is recruiting for an experienced and capable Chef at our stunning Yarra Valley Chocolaterie & Ice Creamery. The Chocolaterie welcomes 800,000 visitors each year and is one of three sites established in 2012 in regional locations across Victoria, with additional sites in planning. Set on 40 acres of landscaped gardens and orchards, 15 minutes from Lilydale in the Yarra Valley, this unique tourism and hospitality venue is designed for locals, domestic and international tourists to enjoy year-round. Our focus on customer service, high-quality standards, festivals, an ever-growing retail product range (all made on site) and a vibrant all-day caf drive repeat visits from locals and travellers alike. Your Role Our 300-seat Caf is open 7 days per week from 9am to 5pm, offering casual all-day dining with fresh and delicious food. Youll be required for day shifts only, providing a great work-life balance. The Caf and our kitchen are a critical component of the customer experience when visiting our showroom, which features over 400 different chocolate products, on-site couverture chocolate production, and an in-house ice creamery. Requirements for the position Previous experience in hospitality is an absolute requirement. Minimum 2 years experience working in a fast-paced kitchen with high volume. Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery and/or Diploma in Hospitality Management or Culinary Arts Ability and willingness to assist in the development of new menu items. A team player with previous experience in training cooks and kitchen hands Weekend and public holiday availability is a must. Key tasks and responsibilities Ensure nutritious, high quality, well prepared, well presented, and enjoyable food is provided to customers Ensure the quality of raw materials meets Chocolaterie standards Ensure operation of kitchen equipment follows occupational health and safety standards Undertake production accurately by ensuring ingredients and processes are to recipe Adhere to all practices relating to food hygiene, preparation, storage, and disposal Control and record all wastage Embrace our culture program The Chocolaterie Way and our values of Caring, Commitment and Creativity This is a permanent full-time position working 5 days per week including both weekend days (one weekend day off per month) and all public holidays.
