An opportunity exists to join Fairfield City Councils leadership team as Manager Property Strategy and Services, responsible for driving strategic corporate outcomes and the optimisation of the Councils property portfolio, including community, commercial and investment assets.ResponsibilitiesLead the strategic management and optimisation of Fairfield City Councils diverse property portfolio, encompassing community, commercial, and investment assets.Provide expert property and business advice to ensure efficient, customer-focused service delivery and strong financial returns.Drive acquisitions, disposals, leasing, and property development projects from inception to completion in collaboration with Council and external stakeholders.Identify and evaluate investment and revenue-generating opportunities, negotiate commercial arrangements, and maximise the return on Councils property holdings.Lead, mentor and develop staff to build a high-performing, harmonious workplace culture founded on teamwork, accountability and professional growth.Ensure compliance with legislative frameworks, deliver the annual business plan and operational budget, and maintain robust governance, risk and internal control systems in alignment with Councils Code of Conduct and Corporate principles.Qualifications and ExperienceTertiary qualifications in Property Economics, Property Management, Valuation, Real Estate or a related discipline.Minimum of 10 years experience in a senior management role within the property industry, including strategic property management, development, leasing, acquisitions and disposals within a complex organisational or government environment.Proven leadership in managing and mentoring multi-disciplinary teams, fostering a collaborative and high-performing workplace culture.Strong stakeholder management skills with experience engaging across Council, government and industry to deliver positive and commercially sound outcomes.Demonstrated capability in property and corporate strategy, project management and financial oversight, focusing on innovation, problem solving and maximising revenue to Council.Excellent communication, negotiation and analytical skills, with the ability to prepare clear property reports, feasibility studies and present complex issues effectively.High level of awareness of governance, systems management, budget control, ethics and integrity, cross-cultural engagement, transparent processes, complaints management and occupational health and safety.Current NSW drivers licence.DesirableExperience in Local Government.Experience in disciplines related to architecture, project management, environmental planning is desirable.Salary & Employment ConditionsPermanent position, 70 hours per fortnight.A competitive salary package will be offered commensurate with qualifications, skills and experience.A motor vehicle benefit is available.Further ContactsEnquiries regarding the position directed to Mr. Hao Dang on 9725 0325 or [email protected] DateCOB Friday 7th November 2025.How To ApplyApplications must address the knowledge, skills, qualifications and experience required in the Position Description.
