About The Role The Recreation Officer is responsible for providing continuous and meaningful activity for prisoners which contributes to securing a more effective management of prisons. The Recreation Officer also organises and coordinates activities for prisoners after working hours. Prisoners should have some input to promote a sense of responsibility, motivation and degree of self-management. The Eastern Goldfields Regional Prison is a minimum-security prison for males and females and is located 600km east of Perth. As the Goldfields Regions only prison, medium and maximum-security prisoners are also accommodated for short periods. Eligibility and Special Conditions A current valid manual class C motor vehicle driving licence. A current valid Provide First Aid (HLTAID003) accreditation (or equivalent e.g. Senior First Aid) received from an accredited training provider with a minimum of 12 months validity remaining. Permanent positions To be eligible for appointment to permanent positions in the West Australian Public Sector you must be an Australian citizen or have permanent resident status in Australia.
