These systems measure critical data for environmental compliance and industrial operations, including gas emissions, air quality, and water quality across Australia and the Pacific. The company requires an immediate, mobile technician to manage a high volume of work across their service areas. Scope This is a handson, technical field service role focused on the maintenance, calibration, and repair of advanced environmental monitoring systems at industrial sites. Reporting: The role reports to the Senior Field Engineer/Service Manager. Work Type: The position involves regular site work, including preventive maintenance (every three months) and reactive interventions for instrument faults. Travel: The position is itinerant and requires frequent travel. The ideal candidate should be highly mobile, preferably based near a major airport (like the Gold Coast), for assignments across Australia and occasional overseas trips (e.g. New Caledonia or Fiji). Compensation: The role is initially offered on a weekly rate (casual/contract) basis, with the potential to transition to a permanent fulltime position. Key Responsibilities The Field Technician will be responsible for ensuring the optimal performance and reliability of highprecision monitoring instruments: Maintenance & Calibration : Perform preventive and corrective maintenance, calibrations, and functional testing on gas, air, and water analyzers, including Continuous Emission Monitoring Systems (CEMS). Troubleshooting & Support : Troubleshoot instrument faults remotely or onsite, escalating complex technical issues to senior engineers when necessary. Commissioning & Testing : Participate in commissioning, Site Acceptance Testing (SAT), and Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) as required, including availability for night shifts or weekend work during these phases (typically 35 days). Documentation : Accurately document all maintenance activities, calibration results, and client interactions using laptops, diagnostic software, and digital reporting tools. Safety & Compliance
