Community Link Worker - VIC Local Latrobe (Morwell) We support individuals living with mental health challenges to achieve outcomes they value. About the Role Full Time Maximum Term Contract Until 31December2026 Classification: SCHADS Level4 with a salary range of $88,169 $94,888 per annum prorate + Superannuation Salary Packaging arrangements providing tax benefits available for living and entertainment expenses, increasing your takehome income where part of your wage is paid taxfree each pay, saving thousands in tax each year Location: Latrobe Valley, MorwellVIC About Neami National Neami National is a community mental health service supporting people living with mental illness to improve their health, live independently and pursue a life based on their own strengths, values and goals. We have been providing mental health support for over30years, founded on an alliance between professionals, individuals and their families. Collaborative recovery remains at the heart of who we are today. About your new role Social prescribing supports local services to refer people experiencing psychological distress, mental illness and/or addiction into nonclinical community groups to support community participation, inclusion and connection. Older adults and those experiencing social isolation and loneliness will be priority groups. The link worker, a lived experience position, will perform a dual role to: Support the individual, their carers, families and supporters to engage with nonclinical activities to benefit their mental health and wellbeing; Enable sustained engagement with local community organisations, clubs and activity providers, ensuring their groups are safe, welcoming and inclusive places for people to access; Promote the wider service and develop referral pathways with local community organisations and community services. A link worker will form part of a client''s wider care team, working alongside other support workers to provide holistic care. What will Neami offer in return? Lived experience of mental illness and demonstrated experience of recovery Experience in the areas of social work, community health/welfare or allied health A valid Australian Driver''s License and access to a reliable vehicle Ability to plan, use and continually review selfdisclosure in a purposeful, meaningful and safe way for consumers, community and self Experience in developing and facilitating group activities to meet the needs of participants and communities, including suicide prevention and selfcare management practices Experience and ability to present in public and develop successful networks and referral pathways with community organisations and community services Willingness to be identified by others as a professional with lived experience of recovery Willingness to share and draw on lived experience purposefully in the role to instil confidence and hope in others about the journey of recovery What the role requires: National Criminal History Check (Police check) disclosable outcomes considered Current Working with Children Check required before commencement of work Current Driver''s licence Australian Working Rights How to apply: The terms and conditions of the role are listed in the position description.
