We currently have a fantastic opportunity for a Recycling Centre Operator to join Team Swan! Our Recycling Centres, Containers for Change Refund Point and Reuse Shop do some great work reusing, reprocessing and recycling materials to keep them out of landfill. The Recycling Centre Operator role is based at the City Recycling Centres (Bullsbrook and Malaga) which receives and manages waste and recyclable materials. The position may undertake other priority tasks from time to time, including working in the gate house, manual handling, Containers for Change facility, customer service, site cleanup and litter control. Responsibilities include completing all work in a safe and efficient manner, having regard to own safety, the publics safety and that of other workers. You and your team should deliver outstanding customer service and be communitymindful with a willingness to improve the quality of life for our community. Key Duties Assisting customers visiting the facilities to safely unload goods for recycling and reuse. Maintaining waste collection areas and ensuring material is correctly recycled. Gate house operation, including using relevant programs for data entry. Assisting in the sale of goods and receiving fees using an EFTPOS terminal. Organizing and maintaining the Reuse Shop appearance. Operating a counting machine at the Containers for Change Refund Point. Manual sorting of containers. Keeping work areas clean and tidy, ensuring a safe working environment, including site cleanup and litter control. Safely operating a variety of plant and equipment. Using a twoway radio. This position is required Thursday to Sunday in line with roster requirements and may also require additional weekday work as necessary. Qualifications Valid drivers licence. First Aid Certificate. Basic Worksite Traffic Management Certificate. A satisfactory National Police Certificate is required. A communitymindful attitude with a willingness to improve the quality of life for our community. Salary The salary for this position will be from $69,927.74 to $72,692.77 per annum plus weekend penalties, depending on the skills and experience of the successful applicant.
