Role The Student Support Officer works closely with school leadership staff to assist with systems and processes that support students, staff and parents, ensuring a responsive and effective student support service. Suitable applicants will collaborate with staff, parents/guardians and relevant community organisations, and may assist with school attendance strategies. Suitable applicants will assist with early intervention support to individuals and/or groups of students in socialemotional learning, coregulation strategies, learning around behaviour, unconditional positive regard, restorative practice and strengthsbased reflection. They will also support the provision of information for multidisciplinary team meetings, case conferences and other relevant processes. They will maintain information and records, collate and prepare information required and assist with implementation strategies and student support programs. The Student Support Officer should ideally have a history of reliability and relatability, building and maintaining relationships within the school community and with other key stakeholders, and under direction participate in crisis management and response duties as required to ensure the best outcomes for young people. Eligibility Be an Australian or New Zealand citizen, permanent resident or have a valid visa with relevant work rights for the term of the appointment. Obtain a valid Working With Children Check before you start. Consent to a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check and obtain a current Screening Clearance Number issued by the Department of Educations Screening Unit before you start.
