The Namhurang Adolescent Mental Health Unit (NAHMU) is a 10-bed inpatient facility dedicated to supporting adolescents aged 12 to 17 with complex mental health challenges. The unit is part of the Child, Youth and Family Mental Health (CYFMH) services and aims to provide compassionate, specialised care from adolescence into young adulthood.Step into a leadership role that makes a lasting impact. As the Senior Aboriginal Health Worker within NAMHU, you will champion culturally safe, compassionate care for Aboriginal adolescent inpatients and their families, ensuring cultural values and perspectives are woven into every aspect of mental health service delivery.This is a strategic role that builds trust with Aboriginal communities, shapes culturally responsive practices across NAMHU and CYF-MH, and strengthens the voice of Aboriginal health within youth mental health services. You will mentor the next generation through supervision of a Djirruwang Mental Health Trainee and two Aboriginal mental health roles in CYF-MH community teams.With cultural support from the Namuragunya Mental Health team and the Manager of Aboriginal Health, you will be part of a network committed to holistic, community-driven care. It requires Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander descent.
