ITT Blakers Pty Ltd in Australia has an opportunity available for a qualified and experienced Mechanical Technician based in our Wangara facility. Responsibilities Assisting Mechanical Engineers Selecting tools and equipment Assembling and installing new and modified mechanical assemblies, components, machine tools and controls, and hydraulic power systems Estimating material costs and quantities, and machine requirements Performing and directing field tests Collecting and analysing data, carrying out complex tasks Organising and supervising inspection and maintenance of machines and plant Ensuring that designs and finished work are within specifications, regulations and contract provisions Responsible for the strip down, assessment, measurement and reporting on pumps/ rotating equipment sent in for repair Service and assembly of pump sets and associated equipment including repair of fittings, fixtures and structures Complete rotating equipment alignment to nominated tolerances using laser equipment Complete the assembly of close-coupled pumps, gearboxes and motors Manufacture simple sheet metal coupling guards Follow written instructions and complete all nominated checkpoints before handover of paperwork Complete hydrostatic tests to nominated standards and as per specific directions Some field service work may be required from time to time Other reasonable duties as required. The successful candidate must be able to handle high volume and high pressure workload while being able to work in a team environment and unsupervised. A methodical approach, as well as your well-developed fitting and machining experience within a pump environment will see you succeed in this role. Qualifications Relevant qualifications include a recognised Trade Certificate or engineering qualification and High Risk Work Licences (particularly Forklift, Dogging, Rigging) will be looked upon favorably. Salary Range for this position is $90,000 to $100,000 plus 10% bonus.
