Company Description Were looking for a passionate and driven Senior Sous Chef to support the culinary operations of the Sunshine Coast Convention Centre the regions largest premier venue for conventions and events. Set amidst Queenslands stunning Sunshine Coast, this purpose-built facility offers flexible event spaces, cuttingedge technology, and a commitment to service excellence and sustainability. In this role, youll help deliver exceptional food for a wide range of highimpact events from conventions and exhibitions to gala dinners for up to 1,500 guests. Working closely with the Head Chef, youll contribute to menu innovation, uphold culinary standards, and help lead a motivated, collaborative kitchen team. Located within Novotel Sunshine Coast Resort, with over 370 rooms, a lagoon, pool, and vibrant dining options, our property is designed for memorable guest experiences. Supporting the Head Chef, youll help lead daily operations, energize the team, and deliver bold, memorable cuisine that meets the highest standards. What youll be doing: Support the Head Chef in overseeing daily culinary operations and ensuring consistent, highquality food delivery Mentor and develop junior chefs while assisting with recruitment, rostering, and payroll to build a strong, efficient team Contribute to menu creation and innovation, bringing fresh, ontrend ideas to largescale events and functions Manage food costs, budgets, and inventory to maintain efficiency and profitability Collaborate with purchasing to ensure smooth kitchen flow and timely stock availability Foster a safe, compliant, and positive kitchen culture built on teamwork and respect Elevate the guest experience by driving creativity and excellence at every service touchpoint Salary range for this role starts at $80,000 to $90,000 Qualifications What Were Looking For Were after a passionate, driven Senior Sous Chef with proven banqueting experience and a flair for leadership in highvolume, fastpaced environments. Minimum two years experience in a similar leadership role, with strong banqueting experience essential Handson leader who sets the tone, motivates the team, and leads by example across multiple sections Strong communicator with the ability to delegate effectively and maintain high standards under pressure Solutionsfocused, adaptable, and always seeking ways to improve systems, service, and food quality Able to work independently with initiative, precision, and attention to detail Flexibility to work a rotating roster including weekends, nights, and public holidays Applicants must have full, unrestricted working rights in Australia to be considered for this role Additional Information Why work for Accor?
