We are seeking a motivated and culturally capable Teacher Aide (Identified) to join our team in a role that is vital for strengthening relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students, their families, and the wider community, while also providing essential classroom and learning support to teachers and students. About The Role As the Teacher Aide (Identified) you will work closely with teaching staff to support the educational, cultural, and social development of students. The successful applicant will demonstrate strong interpersonal skills, cultural capability, and the ability to work effectively within a team environment. Responsibilities Act as the contact for parents/carers and the Indigenous community to determine relevant issues for improved relationships between the school and its Indigenous community. Establish and maintain community and school networks to support improved engagement and outcomes for Indigenous students. Maintain a register of community contacts and relevant information for families and staff. Assist in the supervision of education activities for example a bush tucker garden, sporting activities and school excursions. Assist with playground supervision. Support teachers with the preparation, organisation, and maintenance of learning materials and classroom resources. Assist students with learning activities, both individually and in small groups, under teacher direction. Help maintain a supportive, inclusive, and culturally safe learning environment. Contribute to positive student behaviour and engagement through encouragement and modeling of respectful relationships. Other suitable duties, consistent with the duties and responsibilities of the position as directed by the Line Manager nominated delegate.
