About this Position We are excited to invite applications for a GIS Analyst within our highly skilled and supportive Business Systems team. This position plays a key role in supporting the maintaining, developing, and enhancing Council''s Geographic Information Systems (GIS) to ensure the accuracy, accessibility, and integrity of spatial data across all areas of Councils operations. Working within the Technology and Innovation department, this role provides specialist technical expertise in spatial data management, analysis, and application integration, supporting informed decision-making, efficient service delivery, and data-driven planning across Council. The GIS Analyst also contributes to the continuous improvement of Councils GIS platforms, tools, and data standards to strengthen the value of spatial information as a corporate asset and enabler of innovation. What you will deliver Maintain and develop Council''s GIS data, systems, and applications in line with corporate standards. Provide spatial analysis, mapping, and reporting to support operational and strategic decision-making. Integrate spatial data from multiple sources to improve accuracy and usability. Support staff through training, guidance and technical advice on GIS tools and processes. Research and implement new GIS technologies to enhance Councils digital capability. Contribute to system documentation, project planning and continuous improvement initiatives. What you will need to be successful Tertiary qualification or relevant experience in Geographic Information Systems, Computing Science or a related discipline. Demonstrated experience with GIS software and programming tools (e.g. QGIS, Intramaps, ESRI, FME, SQL, Python or equivalent). Proven ability to maintain and integrate spatial datasets within an enterprise environment. Current Class C Drivers Licence. Excellent communication skills and a collaborative approach to working with internal stakeholders. Experience in local government or asset-based organisations. Knowledge of modern GIS standards, web mapping, and spatial data governance. General Construction Induction Training (White Card). Salary From $1,564.50 to $1,799.18 per week + superannuation, with consideration for higher remuneration based on exceptional skills and experience.
