OverviewThe Groundsman / Maintenance Person is responsible for maintaining the schools buildings, grounds, and facilities to ensure a safe, clean, and well-presented environment for students, staff, and visitors. This role involves both outdoor and indoor work, general repairs, gardening, and assisting with event setup and school operations as needed.Key ResponsibilitiesMaintain school grounds, gardens, lawns, and outdoor areas.Carry out general maintenance and repair work across school buildings and facilities.Conduct regular inspections to identify safety or maintenance issues.Operate and maintain tools, machinery, and equipment safely.Assist with setting up and packing down for school events or activities.Manage waste disposal, recycling, and cleanliness of outdoor areas.Work collaboratively with staff to support the smooth running of school operations.Skills and AttributesPractical maintenance, gardening, or handyman skills.Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.Good communication and teamwork skills.Commitment to safety and following school policies and procedures.Physical fitness and ability to work outdoors in various conditions.QualificationsTrade or maintenance background (e.g. carpentry, plumbing, electrical).Current Working With Children Check (WWCC).First Aid Certificate.Drivers licence. #J-18808-Ljbffr
