The position may also be responsible for duties relating to environmental protection and planning compliance when required.The ideal candidate has a strong work ethic, is able work both autonomously and as part of a team and has strong customer focus whilst promoting council values.The successful applicant will be required to perform on call duties as a part of this role.More specifically, your duties will include:Companion animal control including patrols, seizing of unrestrained animals, issuing penalty notices, and providing community education in relation to companion animalsLocal Law Enforcement investigate and respond appropriately to regulatory matters in accordance with relevant legislationParking patrols Conduct foot and vehicle-based enforcement operations within the Lithgow Local Government AreaInvestigate complaints and issue notices or cautions as per relevant legislationImpounding vehicles and arrange sale or return as necessaryGeneral patrols and inspections to monitor compliance with relevant Acts and Regulations having regard to authority delegated to the positionAttend court to give evidence in support of any prosecutions on behalf of Council when requiredFor more detail about the specific duties and responsibilities of the position, please refer to the complete Position Description.About youThe successful candidate will meet the following criteria:Experience working as a Ranger or in a law enforcement role; with knowledge and understanding of relevant legislation and regulationsExperience in customer service and dealing with difficult customersExperience in animal control and the management of an animal shelterCurrent Class C Drivers LicenceDemonstrated commitment to honesty and integrityDemonstrated commitment to and understanding of Work Health and SafetyIn addition, the ideal candidate will have:Certificate IV in Local Government (Regulatory Services) or equivalentCertificate IV in Government Investigations (Regulatory Compliance) or equivalentCertificate of Achievement in the Self-Enforcing Infringement Notice SchemeExperience in the investigation of environmental offencesExperience driving a manual vehicleDangerous dog handling experience and/or qualificationsSalary and BenefitsIf you are looking for a change of lifestyle, a new adventure, or to take the next step in your career, this is the role for you.Salary from $64,348.44 and $70,705.44 per annum, commensurate with your skills, qualifications and experiencePermanent, Full-time, 38 hours per week, including access to Council''s 9 day fortnight Rostered Day Off (RDO) arrangementOn call allowance when performing on call dutiesWillingness to work overtime on weekends and after-hours as required, weekend penalties applyOngoing learning and development opportunitiesAccess to Council''s Fitness Passport Program and Employee Assistance Program (EAP)Please note: To be considered for this position, candidates must address all selection criteria.
