As a Development Support Officer, you''ll play a pivotal role in supporting the Planning, Building, and Development Engineering teams through a broad range of administrative and technical tasks. Your work will directly contribute to the smooth operation of development-related services, delivering a high standard of customer support, and helping implement system improvements to enhance our e-Planning solutions. The Development Support Officer is responsible for: The delivery of professional and courteous customer service to external clients in relation to planning, building, engineering, and property matters, in consultation with technical officers. Support internal teams through accurate administration, property information management, and technical assistance. Contribute to the ongoing development and implementation of operational efficiencies across the Division. Assist in the management of online and electronic services, GIS systems, and development-related transactions. Maintain accurate records and help apply relevant legislation, standards, and local policies. TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THIS ROLE YOU WILL NEED Demonstrated capability, typically 3-5 years, in the following areas: Applying relevant legislation, codes and standards, including: Environmental Planning and Assessment Act, 1979 and Local Government Act 1993 Building Code of Australia, National Plumbing and Drainage Code Road naming and street numbering standards Understanding and assisting the Divisions operating environment including property information, electronic and on-line services, geographical information systems and receipt of development related payments Delivering exceptional customer service including applying conflict resolution strategies together with identifying, analysing and resolving problems Working effectively with others, developing work priorities and applying time management techniques Use of Microsoft Office programs Monitor and maintain a safe workplace ESSENTIAL CRITERIA: NSW Drivers Licence Certificate III in Business Administration or similar DESIRABLE CRITERIA: Basic training in the Building Code of Australia, Environmental Planning and Assessment Act 1979 and Property Information Systems/GIS INTERESTED?
