Base + allowances when in Antarctica from $172,917The Environmental Remediation Specialist with the Australian Antarctic Division (AAD) will work as part of a multidisciplinary team environmental scientists and engineers in support of two Australian Antarctic Science projects: Reducing Environmental Impacts at Contaminated Sites in Antarctic (AAS #4503) and A Cleaner Antarctica (AAS #4622) within the Environmental Stewardship Program (Science Branch). These projects undertake on-site assessment, remediation and monitoring of human impacts in Antarctica (primarily contamination) while also leading the Australian Antarctic Science Programs scientific effort in contaminated site investigations, contaminant risk assessments and remediation research.The Remediation Specialist will be required to participate in field programs at Australias Antarctic and/or sub-Antarctic stations for up to 5 months at a time. The nature of Antarctic operations means that the timing and duration of deployment can be changeable. Flexibility in circumstance will be necessary for applicants successful in the role.To apply for this role, you must have the skills and licences listed below:Citizenship In accordance with the PS Act 1999, APS employees are required to be Australian citizens.
