Remuneration: $96,768 - $104,450 pa HEW Level 06 (plus 17% employer superannuation) Contribute to the optimum welfare of laboratory animals Provide support to interesting projects and staff Be a part of an inclusive, collaborative team The Opportunity Advance your career as a Senior Animal Technologist at the Monash Animal Research Platform (MARP) and make a meaningful impact to biomedical research. As a Senior Animal Technologist, you will assist the facility manager with the daily operations of a designated unit, overseeing work planning, prioritisation and delivering excellence in welfare in animal production, care and experimentation. As an active operational team member, you role will involve a blend of handson technical duties and supervisory activities. You will provide researchers with highquality animals and actively support research projects, delivering professional and efficient service. Additionally, you will support, supervise, and train other team members in animal husbandry, techniques, care and welfare. The Senior Animal Technologist is expected to maintain uptodate specialist knowledge of new and innovative methodology, equipment, technology, data management and analysis. The role will work closely with management in the implementation of changes to practices and training as required. We are seeking someone with a Diploma of Applied Science (Animal Technology) with subsequent relevant work experience in a research animal facility environment or an equivalent combination of relevant knowledge, training or experience. A genuine passion for working with animals and a collaborative work ethic are essential.
