Whats on Offer The purpose of the position is to strengthen the volunteer sector; a key plank of Mornington Peninsulas resilience, by working with a diverse range of community groups and volunteer involving organisations to encourage the growth, capacity and capability of volunteering. The position is responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with volunteer involving groups/organisations; optimising communication tools and mediums, providing a high level of customer service and ensuring the delivery of training for managers, volunteer committees and board members. Job Satisfaction Have a meaningful impact on the community by contributing to achieve positive outcomes across the Mornington Peninsula Shire About the Role Reporting to the Team Leader Community Development and Engagement the core responsibilities include: Lead the implementation of the Mornington Peninsula Volunteering Strengthening Strategy. Plan and implement an annual schedule of work including but not limited to the delivery of key reports and indicator results. Manage the Mornington Peninsula Volunteer Network (MPVN). Participate in key volunteering networks to develop relationships and understanding of issues and needs hindering the success of the local volunteer sector. Manage the Community Directory/Volunteering Mornington Peninsula website to promote volunteering opportunities and utilise other platforms, where required, as well as keep accurate records for analysis of needs and volunteering trends. Ensure timely and person focused customer service is delivered at all times and particularly in response to volunteering enquiries from community organisations and members of the community. About You The person we are seeking will have demonstrated well-developed experience in community development working with managers of volunteers and volunteer committees of management as well as; Hold or working towards tertiary qualifications in Community Development or a related field. Experience and proficiency in MS Office products and an understanding of Volunteer Information Management Systems software programs. Sound experience in Local Government or other complex Not-For -Profit organisations is desirable. Proficiency with website and social media platforms.
