The Career Medical Officer will provide specialist clinical services of the highest possible standard to patients attending the Sexual Health Service including outreach (Devonport Clinic23).The teamThe Sexual Health Services Tasmania is a collaborative state-wide service with clinics in Hobart, Launceston, and an outreach clinic in Devonport. The service is staffed by consultant sexual health physicians, sexual health registrar, nurse practitioner, nurses, a clinical psychologist and administrative staff. The Statewide Sexual Health Service provides people with the opportunity to enhance their sexual health and well-being with a broad scope of practice. We also provide guidance to clinicians across the state for all matters pertaining sexual health.The roleThe clinical services delivered by our service are achieved by providing sexual health checks, STI diagnosis and treatment, PrEP, as well as the care and management of HIV and treatment and diagnosis and cure of Hepatitis C.We provide a multidisciplinary gender affirming care service including information, support and medical assistance and guidance.Our service also provides assessment and treatment of various genital dermatology conditions, as well as treatment and management of discomfort and pain and sexual dysfunction.You''ll needDemonstrated clinical experience to exercise independent medical judgement and to work with minimal assistance from colleagues.Knowledge of recent advances in medicine, including current drugs and technology.Commitment to delivering sound clinical outcomes within the resource capacity of the service.Skills in the areas of Sexual Health, Public Health, Mens or Womens Health, Gender diverse healthcareSuccessful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria asGeneral or limited registration with the Medical Board of AustraliaCurrent Working with Children Registration (where applicable and as determined by individual position requirements)Applicants should note the following criteria are desirable:For more information: Applicants who require further information are encouraged to contact the Contact person for detailed information about the vacancy.
