You will be conducting site surveillance activities and supporting the project management team.The role will be part of a delivery team overseen by the NSWPW Program Manager that includes Project Managers, Contract Administrators and Site Surveillance team members.The role is based in Moree with regular travel around the Moree Plains Shire Council local government area.About You - ResponsibilitiesConducting site surveillance of contract road and drainage construction work.Conduct safety, environmental and quality inspections to NSWPW guidelines and checklists.Monitoring and ensuring that the Contractor is adhering to their systems.Monitoring of progress of works on-site.Being the NSWPW on-site presence.Conducting minor contract administration tasks (support to contract administrator).Collate works completion evidence including site photos for inclusion in Disaster Recovery Funding Arrangements progress claims.About You Key AttributesExperience in road construction and construction in a reactive soil (black soil) environment.Ability to read and understand contractual and technical documents and to interpret design drawings.Ability to work autonomously on remote sites with regular weekly check-ins with Program Manager and delivery team.Strength and confidence to speak with the Contractor about issues requiring attention.Good judgement and an understanding of the appropriate time to escalate issues.Hold a current NSW Driver LicenceAbout UsNSW Public Works (NSWPW) plays a significant role in the development of our state, our regions, and our infrastructure and associated industries, by supporting local and state government agencies to deliver critical infrastructure initiatives.
