Join Our Team as a Work Health and Safety (WHS) ProfessionalWere seeking an experienced and proactive Work Health and Safety (WHS) professional to become a vital part of our team. In this dynamic role, youll collaborate closely with indoor and outdoor staff across a variety of Council worksites throughout the city. Your expertise will help shape a culture of safety and ensure compliance with Councils WHS policies and legislative requirements.A pivotal role to provide hands on support to teams located at our waste depot in Dunmore, works depot in Oak Flats, Shellharbour Civic Centre Administration building and other workplace locations across our local government areas. You will work in collaboration with the team who are dedicated to ensuring employee safety throughout all of Council.OverviewShellharbour City Council is a dynamic local government organisation serving a thriving coastal community. Located near Sydney, our region offers opportunities across a diverse portfolio that includes regional airport, marina, golf course, libraries, local museum, sports stadium and a service depot.What we are offeringA Permanent full-time position (35 hours per week) with flexible work hours to help balance your schedule.Salary range from $80,011 - $84,908 per annum with annual appraisals for step progressionMotor Vehicle Allowance: $10,780 per year12% superannuationEmployee benefits including retail discounts, fitness programs, weekly pay, Employee Assistance Program (EAP) and sick leave/health and well-being daysResponsibilitiesCollaborate with indoor and outdoor staff across Council worksites to help shape a culture of safety and ensure compliance with WHS policies and legislative requirements.Provide hands-on support to teams located at key locations (e.g., waste depot, works depots, civic centre) and other workplace sites.Work with teams dedicated to employee safety across the Council to promote safety first practices.Qualifications and requirementsGeneral Construction Induction Card (White Card) prior to employment.Complete a Pre-placement Medical Assessment.How to applyFor further information about the position, the position description is available.
