First opened in 2000 for the Sydney Olympic Games, the facility has continued to grow and now incorporates a variety of sporting facilities across 54 hectares, including:Blacktown Football ParkCricket/AFL PrecinctBaseballSoftballBlacktown Exercise Sport and Technology HUB (BEST)Blacktown Disability Sports Centre.About the opportunityWe are currently seeking a Grounds Person Lead Sportsfields BISP who will provide leadership to an experienced and passionate grounds team on a permanent, full-time basis.You will be responsible for assisting the Senior Team Leader in delivering the year-round maintenance, preparation and renovation of all Sportsfields at Blacktown International Sports Park.An ideal candidate will possess a strong attention to detail, and have the ability to work pro-actively under pressure to meet deadlines to ensure we continue to provide surfaces of the highest quality for all stakeholders.Qualifications and experienceCertificate III in Horticulture (Turf), Sports Turf Management or a related areaCurrent class C drivers licenceExperience and knowledge of high standard sporting field preparation and other areas including common reserves and landscapingChemical Application Accreditation AQF3 or equivalent.Experience in the maintenance and preparation of sand profile sports fields, turf wickets, softball and baseball diamondsCurrent class MR drivers licenceChemical Application Accreditation AQF4 or equivalentSenior First Aid CertificateAbility to work flexible working hoursAbility to work within a team environment.Remuneration and benefitsThe salary and conditions of employment are in accordance with Blacktown City Councils Enterprise Agreement.Entry level for this position starts at $1,502.79 per weekRostered Day Off (RDO) every fortnightEmployee benefits such as leave entitlements (where applicable), 12% employer contribution payable to your nominated superannuation fund, Fitness Passport, gym membership discounts, and social clubs.Our commitment to safetyBlacktown City Council is committed to safety.
