Senior Communications Advisor / Senior Social Media Advisor, APS6, Corporate (EA2025/219) ACCC Canberra, Australian Capital Territory, Australia The ACCC is seeking a Senior Communications Advisor and a Senior Social Media Advisor to join our corporate communications team. This role supports internal partners, develops strategic communications, and leads social media activities to advance the agencys objectives. What You Will Do Support internal business partners and design outcome-focused communication strategies, including the creation, delivery, and evaluation of external communications across advertising, websites, social media, and other channels. Prepare project and work plans with measurable milestones and outcomes; monitor progress, manage priorities, and deliver activities to a high standard within agreed timeframes. Understand and comply with operating policies and procedures and provide strategic advice to stakeholders on appropriate actions. Support the teams continuous improvement by contributing to new communication policies, standards and procedures, introducing new tools, and helping partners adopt them. Collaborate with others to leverage expertise in communication and marketing and respond to evolving stakeholder needs. Deliver timely and meaningful campaign reports to stakeholders, evaluate objectives, measure activity, and provide actionable insights. Occasionally manage special projects such as market research programs, including procurement of providers and contract management. As a Senior Social Media Advisor, You Will Apply skills and expertise to community management and content production for the ACCCs social media accounts, including the primary brand, National Anti-Scam Centre, and Scamwatch accounts. Create high-quality, engaging social and multimedia content that captures attention, builds brand presence, and drives audience engagement across platforms. Monitor and moderate social channels to uphold community standards, respond to interactions, and manage real-time risks, including escalation and crisis management when required. Implement the ACCCs Social Media Content Strategy and Governance and Risk Framework, and develop the brands social tone of voice. Engage in social listening to provide insights and recommendations for communications responses. Work with senior executive leaders to leverage social media to promote the ACCCs strategic direction and communicate complex information clearly. Assist in delivering online projects, campaigns, and digital advertising, including social media during events such as speeches and media conferences. About You A demonstrated ability to develop and implement effective strategic communications plans. Experience editing and writing content to house style, ensuring engaging, accurate, relevant, and accessible material. A demonstrated ability to engage, influence, and collaborate with others at all levels in a fast-paced environment. Experience contributing to new workflow processes, channel and content strategies, and communications policies (e.g., brand policy). Experience managing external suppliers and contracts, including critiquing creative concepts across web, social, and advertising. Tertiary qualifications in digital media, communications, marketing or public relations (preferred but not mandatory).
