Division: Independent Public School - South Metropolitan Education Region Location: Wellard Position: Cleaner In Charge Salary: Level 3, $1,254.30 - $1,268.90 per week (pro-rata) Work type: Permanent Full Time Hours: 6:00am to 2:00pm, Monday to Friday The Role The Cleaner In Charge is responsible for opening/closing the school and carrying out internal and external cleaning duties, including maintenance of carpets, hard floor surfaces, toilets, furniture, fittings, windows, dusting, rubbish removal and other general cleaning tasks. They will also carry out vacation cleaning duties, such as stripping and sealing vinyl floors, window cleaning, shampooing carpets and pressure cleaning verandas and undercover areas. Responsibilities Open and close the school and manage daily cleaning schedules. Carry out internal cleaning duties (carpet and floor maintenance, toilets, furniture, windows, dusting, rubbish removal). Perform external cleaning duties (verandas, covered areas, drinking troughs, removal of cobwebs). Complete vacation cleaning duties (strip and seal vinyl floors, shampoo carpets, pressure clean verandas). Supervise and manage cleaning staff in consultation with the Manager Corporate Services. Maintain the cleaners time book, arrange relief staff and monitor and order stock supplies. Record & respond to cleaning issues and liaise with the Manager Corporate Services on all cleaning matters. Qualifications Experience supervising staff in a cleaning environment. Knowledge of cleaning procedures and safety practices. Strong organisational and communication skills. Capable of managing staff performance in consultation with management. Eligibility Obtain a valid Working With Children Check. Provide consent to a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check and obtain a current Screening Clearance Number from the Department of Educations Screening Unit before starting.
