We promote inclusion and value contributions from all people and actively encourage applicants from diverse backgrounds to apply.Key Responsibilities and FunctionsMaintenance and Construction DutiesCarry out road maintenance / construction duties as required.Repairs to footpath and kerb & channel, including removal and replacement of small lots.Cleaning and repairs to urban and rural drainage system, including pits.Other roadway/street maintenance and/or cleaning as required.Participate in Councils after hours call out phone and standby system.The maintenance of strict confidentiality in any matter, which may affect Councils ability to negotiate effectively with suppliers and/or contractors.Other duties as may be directed from time to time.Plant and Equipment Operation & MaintenanceOperation of assigned Plant and Equipment relevant to the task and skill level.Ensure that daily routine maintenance on assigned plant and equipment is carried out; record and report any faults.Ensure that all assigned plant and equipment is returned to a depot, or otherwise securely stored at end of shift.Undertake minor repairs to assigned plant and equipment.Report daily, any observed damage to Council assets.Occupational Health & SafetyEnsure all works are carried out within relevant OH&S guidelines.Participate in knowledge/skills developmental training, or OH&S training as directed.Installation of warning signs, safety lights and barricades at work sites.Accurately record daily work activities for reporting to Team Leader/Leading HandErection and maintenance of traffic control devices, street signs and guideposts etc.To ApplyTo apply for this role, please include a cover letter addressing the following Key Selection Criteria:Key Selection CriteriaExperience in construction and maintenance duties on road, footpath, parks and gardens and/or drainage assets.Experience in the operation and maintenance of plant and equipment.Understanding of traffic management.Understanding of OH&S guidelines.Ability to work between Council depots to meet work requirements.Essential qualifications and experienceDrivers license (medium rigid minimum)Ability to perform various tasks involving heavy lifting, climbing into high cabins of plant, climbing to secure loads, etcNote: This description has been refined to remove irrelevant content and ensure formatting compliance. #J-18808-Ljbffr
