Parent Pathways: Your Journey, Your Way The Parent Pathways program is a free and voluntary service designed for parents and caregivers of young children aged up to 6 years old. Parent Pathways support parents and caregivers based on individual needs, goals and family circumstances. If a participant chooses to participate, they will work alongside a dedicated mentor to create a personalised plan that works for them and their family. We understand that parenting is a full-time job If an activity isnt the right fit or their situation changes, your mentor will work with you to adjust your plan and explore new options. If you need additional support, your mentor can connect you with trusted services and resources in your local community, ensuring you have access to the right help at the right time. Your Role as a Parent Pathways Mentor: Parent Pathways Mentors work alongside parents and caregivers to co-create a personalised plan that reflects their individual goals, strengths, and circumstances. Whether a parents or caregivers goals relate to personal development, education, employment, or overall family wellbeing, mentors offer tailored guidance, local service referrals, and flexible, family-friendly support. The focus is on removing barriers and building on strengths, helping parents and caregivers take positive, practical steps toward a brighter future for themselves and their families. As a Parent Pathways Mentor you will: Deliver person-centred case management for eligible parents with young children, focusing on individual goals, strengths, and family circumstances. Identify and respond to both vocational and non-vocational needs, ensuring a holistic approach to support. Support parents and caregivers aspirations by offering tailored guidance and referring them to appropriate internal and external services as needed. Engage with local community organisations and service providers to develop strong referral pathways and meaningful opportunities for parents. Provide a calm, respectful, welcoming, and child-friendly service environment that fosters trust and sustained engagement. Practice empathy and understanding in all interactions to build trusted relationships and support parents and caregivers in achieving positive outcomes for themselves and their families. What Were Looking For: Were seeking someone who is: Passionate about supporting people from all walks of life A strong communicator with excellent interpersonal skills Resilient, adaptable, and proactive in solving challenges Able to balance empathy with accountability and outcomes Motivated by purpose and committed to positive, long-term outcomes Organised, reliable, and committed to meeting compliance requirements Demonstrated ability to work effectively and respectfully with a culturally diverse range of parents, caregivers, employers, education providers, community services, and colleagues, fostering inclusive and collaborative relationships. Willingness to travel to multiple work locations within a specific region. Previous experience in employment services, case management, community services, is highly regarded but not essential if you have the right attitude and transferable skills. To Be Considered, You Will Need To: Have full Australian working rights Be willing to obtain a National Police Check Have (or be able to pass) a Working with Children Check Have (or be willing to set up) a MyID account formally MyGovID Have a Certificate III in Community Services or other relevant qualifications or demonstrated lived experience with a willingness to work towards obtaining a Certificate III in Community Services qualification.
