Requirements for this role Flexible hours available 1 year of relevant work experience required for this role Key Responsibilities Lead and coordinate day-to-day front-of-house (and/or kitchen) operations during your shift, ensuring smooth service, high standards and guest satisfaction. Supervise, coach and support the team (wait-staff, bar, kitchen support) to deliver excellent customer service and maintain friendliness, efficiency and professionalism. Ensure compliance with food safety, health & safety, liquor licensing (if applicable) and venue hygiene standards. Oversee opening, closing and shift hand-overs, including cash-ups, receipting, stock handling and reporting any issues to management. Monitor service levels during peak periods, step in to assist and problem-solve customer or operational issues as they arise. Assist in rostering, training new team members, and maintaining team morale and engagement. Maintain venue presentation: ensuring dining area, bar, service stations, bathrooms and staff areas are clean, tidy and well-presented. Communicate effectively with kitchen/bar/back-of-house teams to ensure timely food & drink delivery, correct orders, and a seamless guest experience. Provide feedback to management on operational improvements, team performance and guest feedback. Occasionally take on duty manager responsibilities when needed (opening/closing, overall venue oversight). Essential Requirements Previous supervisory or team-leader experience in a hospitality setting (restaurant/bar/caf) preferably with a strong front-of-house component. Excellent customer service skills, including communication, problem-solving and multi-tasking under pressure. Strong leadership and people-management capability: able to inspire and motivate a team, maintain standards and handle shift operational challenges. Current Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) certificate (if applicable). Understanding of food safety, hygiene standards, venue health & safety protocols. Availability to work flexible shifts: evenings, weekends, public holidays. Reliable, positive attitude, good organisational skills, ability to maintain standards and drive service excellence.
