Applications closing on 02 November 2025, 05:00 PMAs the first point of contact for our community, you will play a vital role in creating a positive and welcoming experience for every customer - whether they contact us in person, by phone, or online.This varied role will see you:Provide accurate information and support to customers across a range of Council services.Manage customer enquiries, applications and payments efficiently and professionally.Deliver high-quality service in line with Councils Customer Service Charter.Support continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to a positive, team-focused culture.You will gain a strong understanding of Councils activities and projects and have the opportunity to make a real difference in how our community experiences our services.About youYou are a confident communicator with a natural ability to engage with people from all walks of life. You will bring:Experience in customer service or administration, ideally in a busy front-line environment.Strong computer skills, including the ability to manage transactions and digital records accurately.A professional and empathetic approach to problem-solving.Great attention to detail and a commitment to continuous improvement.The ability to stay calm and positive under pressure.A Certificate III in Customer Service, Business Administration (or equivalent experience) is desirable, as is prior experience in local government - but what matters most is your passion for delivering exceptional service.At Burnie City Council, you will be part of a supportive and community-focused team that values collaboration, respect, and continuous improvement.
