APS 6 - $95,438 - $108,360 + SuperannuationScience and Surveillance Group (SSG) is comprised of scientists, operations and support staff responsible for regulatory advice and training, technical input to biosecurity policy, regulation activity in the Torres Strait and diverse surveillance and diagnostic services around Australia, including animal and plant health surveillance measures under the Northern Australia Quarantine Strategy.The Business Management Unit (BMU) provides strategic, governance and finance support across the SSG Branch. The Senior Program Officer - Finance sits within the BMU, reports to the Assistant Director Finance, and undertakes finance functions across the Science and Surveillance Group branch.The JobWorking under limited direction, the key duties of the candidate will include:monitoring branch forecast, assisting with building budgets, and finance functions such as journals, accruals, re-classification - with all funding sources - administered, appropriation, cost recovery, treasury and section 74,monitoring revenue / section 74 arrangements,assisting with cost recovery funding arrangements and drivers,drafting end of month finance reports, variance commentary and providing finance input into broader briefing materials,responding to finance requests,producing finance reports from TechnologyOne and analysing finance position,assisting with procurement/contracts advice,assisting with other functions in Business Management Unit such a workforce data.What we are looking forKnowledge and experienceKnowledge in Commonwealth Financial practices would be highly desirable.Demonstrated financial/budget management experience.Strong corporate support experience across a wide range of enabling functions.Experience of working in geographically dispersed teams.Experience undertaking research and analysis and come to well-reasoned and substantiated (evidence-based) conclusions #J-18808-Ljbffr
