Councils Design & Placemaking Branch are seeking an Engineering Surveyor to provide survey and design services to clients across Council by providing survey and design of engineering and capital projects and preparing asconstructed plans and documentation for engineering projects. Responsibilities Arrange and perform engineering surveys required for planning, design, construction and maintenance activities in accordance with IPWEA standards and industry best practice. Ensure the survey control and setout of works meet the job requirements and are to specified accuracies. Perform survey computing, data collection, processing and presentation and alignment design computing according to IPWEAs practices, relevant council procedures and standards. Assist with public enquiries and/or complaints of a complex nature, in relation to survey activities as required. Undertake a range of surveying activities utilising CAD software applications and operate specialised surveying instruments including GPS/GNSS, Total Station, Drone and Automatic Level. Qualifications & Requirements Tertiary qualifications such as an Associate Diploma in the relevant discipline from a recognised University. Competence in computer applications: CAD, Total Station Survey operations, GPS, Laser Scanning, Drone survey processing, Civil Engineering survey programs, 12D, AutoCAD, Agisoft, Trimble Business Centre, Microsoft Office suite. Verbal and written communication skills, ability to motivate others, manage time, direct activities, resolve problems and work as a positive and effective team member. Interest and ability to learn other computer applications. Appointment to this position is subject to completion of a preemployment medical assessment.
