BernCo Clean Community Maintenance Worker Join Bernalillo County as a BernCo Clean Community Maintenance Worker and play a key role in maintaining and beautifying our countys roadway rightsofway, medians, sidewalks and infrastructure. Duties And Responsibilities Assist with landscape maintenance tasks including mowing, trimming, planting, and irrigation system upkeep. Support crew pruning and weeding of trees, shrubs, and flower beds. Perform basic surface repairs on concrete or plaster, including patching and crack filling. Set up and maintain trafficcontrol measures when working along active roadways. Remove snow or ice from sidewalks and pedestrian paths as needed. Operate and maintain groundskeeping and graffitiremoval equipment such as sprayers, power tools, vehicles, and trailers. Prepare surfaces for painting (washing, scraping, sanding, sandblasting) and apply paints, enamels, stains, and protective coatings. Paint buildings, structures, furniture, and other surfaces using appropriate tools and techniques. Maintain tools and equipment in safe working order; report unsafe or inoperable equipment. Maintain accurate records of work orders and project progress, including beforeandafter photos and routine reports. Support graffitiremoval and recycling activities as assigned. Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or GED. Preferred Qualifications Experience with general landscape maintenance and painting. Experience operating power tools, hand tools, and landscaping equipment. Experience in general maintenance or a related field. Knowledge of irrigation systems and droughtresistant landscaping. Familiarity with lowvoltage landscape systems, telemetry devices, and backflow preventers. Traffic Control Technician certification preferred at time of hire. Screening And Compliance Successfully complete postoffer employment medical examination and background investigation. Comply with County safety guidelines. Maintain a valid New Mexico drivers license. Hold Traffic Control Technician certification within twelve months of hire. Complete FEMA trainings as assigned. Working Conditions Perform physically demanding work involving lifting, walking, climbing, stooping, and handling materials. Work outdoors in all weather conditions, including snow, wind, and extreme temperatures. Exposure to noise, vibration, dust, fumes, and mists. Work on uneven ground, inclines, and ladders. May use scaffolding and power equipment. Work as part of a team under supervision, with flexible schedules. May work near or within active traffic zones. Equipment, Tools, And Materials Equipment such as cameras, radios, ladders, scaffolding, power washers, sprayers, compressors, generators, chippers, weed eaters, and mowers.
