About the Role As a care worker, you will assist clients in developing the skills needed to live independently, while providing support with daily activities. You will work closely with clients to set goals, manage risks, and explore hobbies or new interests and support them in finding employment. Maintain detailed records of their progress, and ensure their overall well-being. Performance Goals Self - leadership Goals, often the support worker works alone so it is important to work on improving personal abilities. Skills to improve this include adaptability, accountability, decisionmaking, time management etc. Complete administration tasks on time including the weekly reports. Deal with clients, suppliers and other employees professionally always ensure their continent aids and clinical supplies are ordered on time. Ensure office is always clean and presentable including all areas in the house. Decisionmaking goals, support workers are required to think objectively and make choices based on available information, time sensitivity and relevant performance priorities. They need to learn to make quick thoughtful decisions. Collaboration Goals Able to manage the clients appointments and therapies, including scheduling appointments, calendar and social outings. Leadership Goals Support workers are required to be a better team player using communication skills to motivate others. Negotiating goals this allows support workers to create a healthy dialogue with clients to reach common ground and help resolve conflicts in the workplace. Task & Responsibilities The daily activities of a care worker vary depending on the needs of their clients, but their main duties and responsibilities include: helping clients to develop new skills so that they can live as independently as possible assisting clients with exploring hobbies or new interests working with clients to manage risk, plan goals and implement support services Aiding with household tasks, such as cleaning, doing laundry, planning meals and cooking some basic medical care, including dressing wounds, administering medication and performing first aid, as required working closely and collaboratively with clients to explore their needs, put support in place and create opportunities to enhance their wellbeing and growth supporting clients with finding or starting a new job keeping detailed records of activities performed and the clients progress Qualification & Experience A great care worker is empathic, personable and patient. They can build positive relationships with their clients that are built on trust.
