WA Country Health Service, Bunbury Hospital is seeking Advanced Trainee Paediatric Registrars for Fixed Term full time and part time appointments for 6 and 12 months commencing in February 2026, with possibility of extension(s). Appointments may be made from this pool until 27/02/2026. Our service includes general paediatrics with a neonatal component, handling infants born at 34+ weeks or stabilising and transferring As a Regional Paediatric Hub, oncall responsibilities involve fielding calls from local towns with consultant support. Our facility boasts a 12bed paediatric ward, a 6bed Special Care Nursery, and over 1200 births annually. We hold RACP accreditation for General paediatrics with a neonatal component, Rural Term, and Centre of Community Child Health. Applicants must hold full and unconditional General Registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA). There is currently one 12month or two 6month positions available in hospitalbased general paediatrics. Our staffing and support include a dedicated team of 4 x 0.4 paediatricians, 1 x 1 fulltime paediatrician, and Head of Department. There''s always a paediatrician onsite from 0800 to 1600, with afterhours oncall support just 1015 minutes away. Engage in enriching teaching and learning experiences with weekly Paediatrics Playlunch lectures, video conferences to Perth Childrens Hospital grand rounds, monthly paediatrics xray meetings, bimonthly paediatrics neurology meetings, and weekly hospital Grand Rounds. Benefit from 4 hours of rostered nonclinical time every second Monday and actively participate in ED teaching, Ward Teaching, and Rural Clinical School Teaching. Your profile of work will involve collaboration with an oncall paediatrician with 24hour resident coverage. With 34 nights per week of registrar cover and consultants contributing, you''ll handle varied responsibilities, including general paediatrics, ED admissions, Special Care Nursery, and attending deliveries.
