Closing Date: 4:30pm (AWST) on Thursday, 13 November 2025 The Role We are seeking to establish a pool of Special Needs Education Assistants for permanent and fixed term, fulltime and parttime vacancies which may arise during the 2026 school year. The role will support teaching staff in delivering planned education programmes, promoting a supportive and inclusive learning environment, and assisting students general health and wellbeing. Key Responsibilities Assist teachers in planning and delivering education, therapy and support programmes. Provide feedback on education and therapy programmes and participate in the evaluation of student progress. Support students general health and wellbeing, including engagement with children exhibiting challenging behaviours. Follow safe work practices and maintain a positive, inclusive learning environment. Collaborate with the teaching team and the school community to support student achievement and accessing the curriculum. Qualifications and Skills Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with teachers and support staff. Knowledge and experience with evidencebased techniques for learning and behaviour, and an understanding of disabilities such as Autism Spectrum Disorder. Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with staff, students and teachers. Organisational skills, initiative, and the ability to work under general supervision or autonomously.
