Agricultural Assistant - Spinifex State College - Mount Isa Education and Training PrecinctSpinifex State College - Mount Isa Education and Training Precinct is seeking a dedicated Agricultural Assistant to join our team. Located in Mount Isa, the role offers the chance to contribute meaningfully to our growing community.This position is being offered in a Temporary PartTime capacity (0.39FTE), 30 hours per fortnight.This is a progressional position as per the Role Description. The successful applicant will be appointed to the lower classification with eligibility for progression to the next, once specific criteria have been met or demonstrated. Parent involvement is key to student success, and together, were proud to make Spinifex one of Queenslands great state schools.About The Role As the Agricultural Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting the efficient and effective operation of the school''s agricultural program by delivering highlevel assistance to designated staff. This includes maintaining agricultural field study sites, animals, crops, machinery, and equipment to ensure they are functional, secure, and safe, thereby contributing to a productive and wellmanaged learning environment.Your Responsibilities As the Agricultural Assistant, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:Preparation of all agricultural field sites and agricultural machinery, equipment and materials.Planting, watering and care of crops and market gardens and related duties including regular physical maintenance and the use of appropriate insecticides and fertilisers where necessary.Care and feeding of animals, cleaning cages and pens and related duties.Take simple measurements, for example, weighing crop yields.Order and/or collect general agricultural supplies and materials as authorised by the Head of Department, Principal or nominated delegate.Please refer to the attached role description for the full list of responsibilities and mandatory requirements for this position.Interested?
