This role sits within the Rail Safety & Accreditation team, part of the Major Projects, System Integration and Assurance (SIA) group, supporting major projects such as Cross River Rail, ETCS Level 2 signalling and The Wave. Reporting to the Rail Safety & Accreditation Manager, you will provide rail safety accreditation services to Queensland Rail and external project stakeholders and ensure major projects meet regulatory obligations. Key Responsibilities Establish rail safety requirements for project delivery and outcomes. Inform the Office of the National Rail Safety Regulator (ONRSR) of changes to the railway. Maintain safety interfaces through collaboration with other Rail Transport Operators. Support assurance processes to promote improvement opportunities. Identify rail safety accreditation requirements for the projects. Develop and maintain rail safety accreditation strategies and plans. Prepare for and attend ONRSR engagement meetings, provide project updates and keep minutes and track actions. Identify and facilitate Notifications of Change and Variations of Accreditation, engaging project stakeholders and collating supporting artefacts. Qualifications and Experience A thorough understanding of the application of Rail Safety National Law and experience of working within a regulatory environment. The capability to develop and present planning documentation to the regulatory body and other stakeholders. Experience in administering stakeholder forums and maintaining forum records. Strong interpersonal and professional skills to build and maintain stakeholder relationships. Extensive organisational and coordination experience. Project Context Joining Queensland Rail means supporting the 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games and the Cross River Rail project, which will transform travel across the South East Queensland network with doubled passenger journeys to 80 million over the next decade. You will also help deliver key initiatives such as new Gold Coast line stations, the Logan and Gold Coast Faster Rail Project, new rolling stock, station accessibility upgrades and capacity enhancements.
