As a Trainee Waste Education Officer, youll be part of a dynamic, forwardthinking team thats passionate about making a difference. Commencing salary of $1,654.80 gross per fortnight plus superannuation (at 18 years of age or older), varying rates subject to age and experience as per award provisions A supportive team thats ambitious and genuinely cares about making improvements A flexible 35hr work week with (3) hours paid study time each week Gain transferable skills with longterm job opportunities in a growing industry Clean, comfortable office and kitchen facilities Your new role Shadow and learn from experienced staff, supporting the Waste Education Officer and Facilities Manager. Visit schools, community groups and events to help deliver fun, educational activities about waste and recycling. Help create online content, social media posts and community updates. Take part in team meetings, projects and workshops. Assist with customer service, admin tasks and record keeping. Gain handson experience across all parts of the Waste Management team at Gregadoo. This role is best suited to someone who is Enthusiastic, approachable and confident talking to people. Creative, wellspoken and not afraid to share ideas. Adaptable and happy to work in an environment thats more functional and practical than fancy. A team player who brings energy and a cando attitude. Interested in sustainability, community engagement, or marketing. Were not expecting you to know everything were looking for attitude; someone keen, driven and upbeat! What you will need to succeed Willingness to work and study, undertaking a Certificate III in Business (Customer Engagement) or other relevant qualification. Class P1, P2 or C Drivers Licence. A General Construction Induction Card (White Card) is desirable but not essential. A positive attitude and strong work ethic. In accordance with Work Health and Safety legislation, the successful applicant is required to be vaccinated for Hepatitis A and Hepatitis B and will be asked to provide evidence of this. The Reality Check Lets be real, this role is based at the Gregadoo Waste Management Facility, so yes, its technically at the tip. But its also where the real action happens. Youll be part of a team that turns waste into something worthwhile, helping educate the community on how small changes can make a big difference. The office set up isnt flashy but its clean, comfy and functional. Theres a good kitchen but youll need to pack your own lunch. What is next?
