Practitioner - Health & Wellbeing (Alcohol & Other Drugs) Community Services | Burnie, Devonport, North West Coast Fixed-term, full-time (76 hours fortnightly) position based on the North West Coast Are you committed to making a positive difference in the lives of people impacted by alcohol and other drugs? Our services provide support not just to those who are experiencing problem behaviours, but also for those directly impacted such as friends and families. About the role: Anglicare Drug and Alcohol Treatment Service (ADATS) is an early intervention and psychosocial community-based program for Tasmanians (14 years and older) who have experienced negative impacts from the use of alcohol and/or other drugs, including tobacco and vaping. ADATS provides an intensive, trauma-informed, personalised service for each individual, and if appropriate, their families and partners. To be successful you will have: An understanding of the processes people utilise to overcome adversity/distress arising from life challenges. An ability to recognise and understand peoples intrinsic resourcefulness. Provide support in a manner consistent with Anglicares values and practice principles. Demonstrate high level of communication and interpersonal skills with people who access our services, family/carers, colleagues, other service providers and stakeholders. Ability to accurately document and maintain records. Demonstrated experience with relevant information and communication technologies. Ability to work autonomously within organisational policy and procedure. A high level of professionalism and a willingness to develop and reflect on professional practice. Knowledge and understanding of current best practice in supporting people with a range of social issues including children, young people and their families. Relevant degree level qualifications (Social Work, Psychology, Nursing, Allied Health), or essentially required accreditation from a recognised institution. Demonstrated experience providing support to people facing adversity and challenges in their lives. What we offer you: an attractive salary of $88,465.52 to $92,713.92 (full-time equivalent); not-for-profit salary packaging available that can increase your take-home pay; a 7% Graduate Loading payable where you hold a degree in a relevant discipline; a friendly and supportive work environment. The successful applicant will be required to: provide a current Tasmanian Working with Vulnerable People Registration (employment/volunteer category) including NDIS Worker Screening Check; present an unsupervised contact with children or vulnerable people type National Police Check (no older than 12 months); provide an International Police Check if you have resided for 12 months or more outside of Australia after the age of 16; provide a satisfactory Anglicare-assessed medical; provide a current provisional or full Australian Drivers Licence.
