Fixed term temporary full-time [12 months, part time hours may be considered]. John Hunter Hospital is a leading tertiary referral centre in the Hunter New England Local Health District, and is seeking highly experienced and dedicated consultants to join the Maternity and Gynaecology team. We are looking for specialists with expertise in Obstetrics, Gynaecology, or both. These roles offer a rewarding opportunity to contribute to a high-quality, patient-centred service within a collaborative multidisciplinary environment. Key Responsibilities Provide high level clinical care and leadership in the areas of Obstetrics, Gynaecology, or combined Obstetrics and Gynaecology Participate in the on-call roster, ensuring 24/7 coverage for acute obstetric and gynaecological services Supervise and support junior medical staff and actively participate in teaching and research activities Engage in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care outcomes Collaborate effectively with other healthcare professionals to deliver multidisciplinary care Qualifications Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists Registration (or ability for registration) with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency Extensive expertise in Obstetrics, Gynaecology, or both, with a strong clinical background in managing complex cases Commitment to teaching, research and ongoing professional development Demonstrated ability to work within a team and provide leadership in a multidisciplinary setting What we can offer you This is an opportunity to work for one of the largest local health districts in NSW which services a population of more than 900,000 across the Hunter, New England and Lower Mid North Coast areas. The Expedited Specialist Pathway offers a streamlined route for eligible doctors to gain recognition and start practicing sooner.
