Manager Communications, Marketing and Customer Experience Job No: GRC1533 Lead the development and delivery of strategic communications, media, customer service and engagement initiatives that enhance the councils reputation. Competitive annual salary negotiable based on skills and experience, plus 12% superannuation. Role Overview This role provides oversight for a range of functions and is responsible for leadership, management, and balance of strategic and operational delivery. The role reports to the Director Corporate Services and demonstrates behaviours aligned with council values and transparency. Key Responsibilities Lead the development and implementation of strategic communication, marketing, and customer experience initiatives. Work closely with the Mayor, Councillors and Executive Leadership Team to ensure accurate and consistent messaging. Provide leadership to a multidisciplinary function delivering highquality service across communications channels. Drive customerfocused innovation and continuous improvement in line with best practice. Oversee crisis communication and media response during emergencies or sensitive issues. Build and maintain productive stakeholder relationships through consultative processes. Ensure compliance with legislation and monitor service performance against deliverables, budget and KPIs. Essential Qualifications and Experience Bachelors degree or higher in marketing, public relations, communications or related field. Experience developing and implementing communication, marketing and customer engagement strategies in a complex organisational environment. Highlevel communication skills (interpersonal, oral and written) and ability to influence and resolve conflict. Knowledge of relevant legislation and statutory requirements, with capacity to implement sustainable solutions. Proven ability to lead and manage multidisciplinary teams, performance management, workforce development and a customerfocused culture. Experience transforming and enhancing performance of teams and services, with emphasis on value for money and customer focus. Capability in developing and implementing strategic systems, processes and initiatives aligned with organisational goals. Research, analytical and problemsolving skills, focus on continuous improvement and innovation. Record of business management skills and corporate governance, including finance, contract, project, risk management and benefits realisation. Queensland C Class drivers licence.
