Our Technology Services division spanning Data, Architecture & Integration, Cyber Resilience, Digital Delivery & Innovation, Technology Platforms, and Operations & Services works collaboratively to deliver innovative, real-world outcomes for students, staff, and researchers. We''re now seeking a technically accomplished Senior Application Engineer to join the Digital Delivery & Innovation team. In this senior technical role, you''ll lead strategic enterprise application development across SCUs core platforms including TechnologyOne, Microsoft Dynamics 365, and Anthology Blackboard. Reporting to the Application Development & Engineering Principal, youll guide technical direction, mentor developers, and deliver scalable, integrated solutions that enhance operations across student, teaching, research, and enterprise domains. You will make an impact by: Leading application development across Tier 1 platforms, TechnologyOne, Microsoft Dynamics 365, and Anthology Blackboard, and setting architectural standards to support university-wide transformation Designing and delivering integrated, scalable solutions that create seamless digital journeys across key business domains Driving platform modernization through the adoption of cloud-native tools, advanced workflows, and emerging technologies Championing technical excellence through accessible, responsive UX/UI design that meets WCAG standards, that deliver exceptional user experiences across web and mobile platforms Mentoring developers and building capability across application engineering teams Supporting governance, security, and compliance requirements, including student data privacy and vendor management across enterprise platforms What you will bring Youre a handson technical leader with deep understanding of enterprise application platforms in higher education. You have proven expertise configuring, customising, and integrating complex systems, and you understand the unique challenges of delivering solutions. Youre not just building code, youre building capability, community, and the future of digital service delivery. To succeed in this role, you will also need: A Bachelors degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science or similar, and 8+ years professional development experience including 3+ years in senior technical roles Advanced technical expertise in .NET/C#, React/TypeScript, Azure services, SQL Server, and modern UX/UI frameworks (React, Angular, Fue.js) with demonstrated ability to establish technical standards Deep platform expertise in at least one of the following: TechnologyOne Student Management configuration, workflows, API integrations, customization Bonus: Anthology Blackboard platform integration and US for student engagement Enterprise application architecture experience designing solutions that span multiple domains with complex integration requirements Proven ability to lead technical teams, influence architectural decisions, and deliver continuous improvement at scale Strong UI/UX sensibility with experience in responsive design and accessibility Its not essential, but wed love it if you had Cloud Certifications such as Azure or AWS, integration experience using Azure Integration Services, and exposure to the student lifecycle in a higher education setting.
