The Small Animal Veterinarian position operates within the University Veterinary Teaching Hospital in Camden (UVTHC) as a first opinion small animal veterinary hospital at the rural (Camden) campus. Responsibilities Provide first opinion small animal services including medicine, surgery and anaesthesia within Camden/Wollondilly districts Provide ''handson'' clinical training to final year students for ''Day One'' skills this will include independent supervision of spey clinic and first opinion consults Support undergraduate veterinarians and nursing staff in decision making and case management Take part in informal and formal presentations of small animal related topics at the hospital Participate actively in development of wide range of skills and dissemination of knowledge through attendance at journal club and hospital rounds. About you A degree in veterinary science registrable in NSW Previous experience in a small animal primary care practice is essential An ability to work independently and within a team environment Understanding of the balance of client expectations, financial limitations, and animal welfare Experience in teaching/coaching others The ability to show initiative and manage competing deadlines Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
